Kaimai Journeys is how Kaimai Security Limited works with New Zealand businesses. The practice is led by Joerg Micheel.

There is no account manager between you and the person doing the work. You talk to the same person who configures the thing, which is usually faster and always clearer.

A small practice, deliberately

This is a one-person practice today. That is worth saying out loud, because it explains how the work is done rather than apologising for it. The model is preventative: watch the systems continuously, fix the small things before they become someone's ruined morning, and automate the watching so it happens whether or not anyone is thinking about it.

It also sets honest limits. We are not a call centre and there is no overnight rota. What there is instead is a business that does not generate as many emergencies, because the conditions that cause them get removed early.

Depth where it counts

Joerg Micheel holds ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer certifications, ISO 19011, and ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer — auditing, building and running information-security and AI management systems. Most of that work has been with organisations considerably larger than the ones this brand serves, which is the point: the standards do not change, only the scale and the sensible amount of ceremony.

Your business stays yours

Written down, because it is easier to promise than to keep:

• Accounts and domains are registered in your name, with your credentials, and you keep the top-level control of them.
• At least two people on your side hold administrator access, so nobody — including us — is a single point of failure.
• We are never the recovery contact for your systems.
• Anything we hold can be revoked by you, unilaterally, without asking us.

The practical test of a supplier is what happens when you leave. Ours is designed so that leaving is an afternoon of admin, not a hostage negotiation.
